İztuzu Beach Boat Transfer

Dalyan has no beach of its own. İztuzu is half an hour down the river and the shuttle boats run back and forth all day — no tour, no guide, just a lift there and a lift back whenever you have had enough sun.

The day, hour by hour

  1. From the town quay

Boats leave through the morning; the first ones go early and the frequency drops in the afternoon.

  2. About 30 minutes down the delta

Past the rock tombs and out through the channels.

  3. As long as you like on the beach

Café, showers, sunbeds and the turtle rescue centre are all at the river end.

  4. The last boat back

Fixed and non-negotiable — we tell you the time when you buy the ticket. Miss it and it is a taxi around by road.

Questions people actually ask

Can we drive to İztuzu instead?

Yes, there is a road to the far (Ortaca) end, about 25 minutes by car, with a car park. The boat is better: you arrive at the river end where the café and the rescue centre are, and you get the delta on the way.

Is the beach free?

The beach itself is free to walk on and swim from. Sunbeds and umbrellas are hired separately.

Why does the beach close in the evening?

Loggerhead turtles nest on it from May to September. Nobody is allowed on the sand at night in those months. That single rule is why the beach has never been built on.
