Saklıkent Gorge & Tlos Day Trip

A crack in the Taurus mountains eighteen kilometres long and in places only a couple of metres wide, with snowmelt running through it all summer. You wade in up to your knees, sometimes your waist, between walls hundreds of metres high. It is markedly colder inside than out.

Questions people actually ask

How far into the gorge do we walk?

As far as you want. The first river crossing is the hard part; after that most people manage twenty to forty minutes upstream and turn round.

Is it suitable for older visitors?

The walkway and the restaurants are easy. The gorge floor is loose wet rock in fast water and is not. Both are fine — you can sit over the river while the others wade.
